Each one of us contains a spark, something that makes us unique and necessary in this world. However you see that spark, there is something of value and worth in you and I am eager to help you to let it shine.
Hi, I’m Jared! I use he/him pronouns.
After spending over 20 years in the congregational rabbinate, I have come to realize that one of my greatest joys comes in helping others see their inherent value and worth and in guiding them towards being their full, authentic selves. Throughout my life, I have always been an outsider. Growing up in a small town in New Jersey - we got our first traffic light in 1990! - I was one of the only Jewish kids around and, as I’d come to learn as I grew up, one of the only gay kids in my high school, as well. While being different was challenging in my pre-teen years, I was fortunate to have a support system that both encouraged and empowered me to be my full, authentic self, and I’m eager to pay it forward.
As a rabbi, I have had the honor of guiding hundreds of people through challenges, changes, and celebrations. While my own faith has played a central role in my life, I recognize that each of us is on our own path, which may or may not include spirituality. I pride myself on my ability to compartmentalize my faith, when necessary, and guide my clients through their own experiences on their own terms. If you’ve been hurt by a faith community, I can help. If you don’t see yourself as a person of faith, no worries.
My husband and I have been together since 2009, married since 2014, and are raising an adorable, precocious elementary school student. Especially since the pandemic, being a husband and father have opened my eyes to the need for empathy in our world. I see many people who have been hurt, who feel misunderstood, who do not believe they can be the people they ought to be. I’m here to help you be your full, authentic self.
Throughout my professional career, I have worked with folx at all stages of life, helping them to realize their full potential and be their whole selves in a difficult world. I have had the privilege of guiding people through a variety of challenges and opportunities. If you are on a spiritual journey, if you are exploring deepening or opening your relationship with others, if you are feeling overwhelmed by the world we live in, if you are helping someone else through their emotional distress or a health crisis, if you are grieving, then I can help.
With over 20 years serving as a rabbi in congregational life, I have been with people at every stage of life and in just about every kind of situation. While my own faith has guided my journey, I know that it’s just what works for me and might not work for you. I’m eager to help you find your unique path.
Unlike therapy or counseling, coaching is not meant to unpack past trauma or to treat mental health. Coaching seeks to ignite your well-being and help you to grow into the person you are able to become. Together, I’ll help you develop skills to empower yourself in stressful situations, with significant life decisions, and in becoming who you are meant to be.
